Cleaner remanded for stealing blank cheque

Kumasi April 14 GNA-A 20-year old worker at the Ke-Clean Limited, an Industrial Cleaning Company in Kumasi, has been remanded in prison custody by a Kumasi Circuit Court for stealing blank cheque booklet. Emmanuel Amankwaah pleaded guilty however the Court presided over by Mr Ernest Yao Obimpeh, deferred his sentence to April 28.

Police Chief Inspector Regina Kesewaah, who presented the facts of the case said on March 1, this year, the accused stole the booklet in the Regional Accountant office during his routine duty.

The accounting staff who detected the theft alerted Ecobank leading to the arrest of Amankwaah who had gone to cash 7.2 million cedis.
