Cocoa beans thief escapes from custody

Kasapin (B/A), Dec 18, GNA- Police at Kasapin in Asunafo District is searching for Kofi Appiah, a 33-year-old farmer at Ampenkro, who escaped from police custody.

The Goaso Magistrate's court had remanded him for allegedly stealing fermented cocoa beans.

Police said he attempted to sell the beans to Mr Adu Baffour, a purchasing clerk at Ampenkro.

The clerk suspected foul play and alerted members of the unit committee who arrested him and handed him over to the police.
