Companies urged to fulfill their CSR

Takoradi, Dec..6, GNA - Mr. Ato Van-Ess, Chairman of the Sekondi-Takoradi Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry (STRCCI), on Tuesday said the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Awards of the chamber is to encourage other corporate bodies to fulfill their CSR.

Speaking at a press briefing on the chamber's second CSR Awards ceremony, he said the awards were to motivate companies to do more for communities in which they operate.

Mr. Van-Ess said companies that had fallen short of their CSRs will be assisted to improve their performance in that area.

He said companies should assess the needs of communities and win their approval for projects earmarked under their CSRs.

Mr. Van-Ess said this had to be done voluntarily by companies instead of being forced by the people to do it.
