Veteran Journalist Yaw Boadu Ayeboafo has urged District Chief Executives to complete projects they have inherited from previous administrations as a way of bolstering development in Ghana.
He made the observation during a tour of some uncompleted projects in the Brong Ahafo region capital Sunyani at the weekend.
A 20-seater public toilet was one of the abandoned projects chanced upon by the Parliamentary press corp and other local government stakeholders who went on the tour.
The project which is about 90 percent completed was started by the Gh@50 Secretariat under the Kufuor administration.
It shares a compound with the Kotokrom MA primary school which incidentally lacks a toilet facility.
Sunyani Chief Executive Kwasi Oppong Ababio said he risks being sanctioned if he continues the project without due authorization since there are no documents covering the project.
But the Graphic Communications General Manager of Newspapers, Yaw Boadu Ayeboafo however said servicing the needs of the people must be a priority.
“If somebody starts a project and somebody completes it, the people who live in the village, don’t they know who started and completed it? He queried adding...we should not be selfish in these matters”.
