A group of aggrieved lotto operators under the umbrella name, concerned Lotto Agents Association of Ghana have threatened massive nationwide demonstrations if government and the National Lottery Authority fail to address their concerns within 14 days.
They are demanding a complete reversal of the NLA’s compulsory imposition of imported E-kiosks on them.
They claim the prices ranging from GH¢15,000 to GH¢20,000 are too exorbitant.
Executive Secretary to the Lotto Agents, Kwaku Duah-Tawiah tells XYZ News they are even more angered by NLA’s decision to slap a whooping sum of One Million Ghana Cedis as registration and licensing fees in a so called Banker to Banker regularization.
They are therefore poised to hit the streets if nothing positive is heard within 14 days.
The threat by the over 400,000 agents is coming barely 24hours after the Coalition of Unemployed Private and Public Medical Lab Personnel numbering about 1,500 issued a one-week ultimatum to government to grant them financial clearance.
These agitations including pressure being mounted by graduate nurses from private institutions for jobs is expected to give government headache but its appointees say they are being solved.
Meanwhile the two week ultimatum issued by the Vehicle and Asset Dealers Association protesting against the luxury vehicle tax ends today.
PRO of the True Drivers Union, Yaw Barima tells XYZ News they will meet later today to decide their next line of action.
He stated that, a letter written from the Finance Minister, Ken Offori Atta to meet them did not include a date and time, something he describes as disrespectful.
