A conference to revive the spirit of pastors to stay on course and lead unblemished lifestyles in their work to propagate the name of Jesus Christ and lift Him higher has begun in Tamale.
The five-day conference, which began on Wednesday, dubbed: “Covering of the Fathers” is an initiative of the Worldwide Miracle Outreach and it is hosted in Tamale by the Grace Word Chapel International.
It also seeks to impart the knowledge of the Fathers (experienced pastors) into the lives of the pastors in Tamale, so that they can also train others according to the gospel, whilst leading righteous lives so as not to drag the name of Jesus Christ in the mud.
Reverend Daniel Gyasi-Ankrah, Assistant to Dr Lawrence Tetteh, President of Worldwide Miracle Outreach, who briefed journalists about the details of the conference in Tamale, said it was also to raise up pastors such that “Being leaders that they are, they will know their qualities, roles, and how to determine the wrong things in their organisations to help fight against offences.”
Reverend Gyasi-Ankrah spoke about some of the challenges some pastors faced, which included wanting to get rich overnight, forcing them to depart from the gospel, keeping concubines, and engaging in promiscuous sex, saying those acts were not only an affront to the gospel but also led to the spread of diseases.
He said the conference would help revive the spirit of pastors in Tamale to better do their work and be the disciplinarian in spreading the gospel.
He advised pastors to support one another in the spread of the gospel to let Christ reign.
