The Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) in various tertiary institutions throughout the country have been tasked to give off their best in consolidating the gains made by the party over the period.

They have particularly been challenged to lead a united front and work towards building a formidable party to maintain political power in 2020 and beyond serving as ambassadors of the government by propagating its achievements.

Son of late Former Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama who threw the challenge at the handing over ceremony of the University of Ghana TESCON, called for concerted efforts by all to break the 8-year jinx of every government as being the morn.

He urged the newly sworn in TESCON executives to keep the faith and be in touch with the party fellows within their reach and work to increase the membership base of the party.

“I believe if we have a vibrant party structure it will translate into the performance of the government and will improve our electoral fortunes in 2020 and beyond. It begins with each and every party member” he said

He maintained that the Nana-Addo government has made sterling gains in the superior management of the economy, social intervention programmes and in all fronts of governance. As a former committed TESCON member in his student days at KNUST, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama demonstrated commitment by offering a financial package to support TESCON.

The event was attended by government and party officials such as the National Organiser, Sammi Awuku, the National Youth Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye, Municipal Chief Executive of Ayawaso-West, Member of Parliament for Ayawaso-West Wuogon, Emmanuel Kyeremanten Agyarko among others.
