Kumasi, Oct. 23, GNA - All State Construction and Timber Company Limited, based in Accra on Wednesday presented a cheque for 10 million cedis to the Otumfuo Education Fund in Kumasi.
Mr Kwadwo Ackom, a representative of the company who presented the cheque on behalf of Nana Asante, Managing Director, lauded the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the chiefs of Asanteman for instituting the fund to cater for brilliant but needy students. He said the company shared the lofty ideas of the Asantehene and therefore decided to present the money and hoped their contribution would be of assistance to a few needy students.
Mr Ackom promised that the company would continue to support the activities of the fund to enable poor students to have good education. Nana Brefo Boateng, the Executive Secretary to the Fund, who received the cheque, expressed appreciation to the company for its generosity and promised that the money would be put to the use for which it is intended.
Mr Edward Brenya, the Administrative Manager of the Fund, suggested to the company to adopt a school or a student through the fund. He said it could also donate books or learning materials to schools in the areas where it operates in the name of the fund. The company has a branch in Kumasi.
