He stressed that GRIDCO does not supply power directly to consumers and according to him it will be impossible to be sued since they [GRIDCO] perform their duty by way of transmitting the right proportion to their customers.

He acknowledged the prowess of the Ghana Police Service and the Fire Service when the incident happened.

On the issue of possible upward tariff adjustment, he said a proposal has been sent to the PURC for review as it is been done every 2 years.

With the consumption level of electricity in the country, he said it has increased to over 1,700 mega watts as against a previous of 1,555 mega watts of consumption.

He however alluded that the consumers always waste power and advised them to use it judiciously as this will conserve more electricity power in the country.

He advised,"people should not call into radio stations to complain about their problems, while there are customer service centres around to address issues on power irrationalities.”
