Accra, Nov. 15, GNA - The Ministry of Water Resources, Works and Housing has decided to re-classify all contractors registered under it, in an effort to equip them and upgrade their capacity. This is to ensure that the classification conforms to international norms and that a class one contractor in Ghana should be able to perform to the same degree of efficiency as his counterpart in any part of the world.
Mr Hackman Owusu-Agyemang, Sector Minister, said this when he took his turn at the weekly Meet-the-Press series in Accra on Tuesday. He said that a more purposeful approach was being taken with regard to the issue of contractors' certificate.
The Minister said at present, the period for processing those certificates had been reduced from three weeks to three days. Furthermore, to enhance customer service delivery, all staff of the Ministry had been issued with tags for easy identification to reduce the incidence of untoward behaviour such as extortion to the barest minimum and to enforce discipline as well.
