Twifo Ayaase (C/R), Oct. 10, GNA - Convicted electoral offenders could be banned from voting for five years, a district electoral officer said on Thursday. Mr Busby Asante, Electoral Officer for Twifo-Hemang-Lower-Denkyira district mentioned double voting and campaigning on Election Day as electoral offences that could attract temporary bans. Addressing a durbar on 'Peaceful Election 2008,' organised by the chiefs and elders of Ayaase to educate the people on electoral regulations, Mr Asante said it was also an offence for minors to vote. Mr Samuel Agyeibie-Kessie, the District Chief Executive, appealed to the people not to engage in acts that will bring the name of the district into disrepute.
