The combined team of military and police personnel who were deployed to Agbogbloshie on Tuesday following the violent clashes between Dagombas and Konkombas will be there for some more time to ensure that the situation is completely brought under control, Superintendent Cephas Arthur, Director of Public Affairs for the Ghana Police Service, has said.

According to him, although life is fast returning to normal after Tuesday’s disturbances, there may be a few persons bent on launching reprisals, hence the need for these officers to remain stationed at the place.

Speaking in an interview with Chief Jerry Forson, host of Ghana Yensom, on Accra100.5FM on Wednesday April 12, Supt Arthur said: “The Police and soldiers will be there for a while to ensure that the situation is dealt with totally.

“There may be some people who will want to launch reprisal attacks and so the police and the military will stay there for quite some time.”
