Some landlords in Koforidua in the Eastern Region have barred their tenants from welcoming strangers and visitors into their homes.

The decision is to prevent the spread of Coronavirus which has so far infected 137 people and claimed four lives in Ghana.

Some of the landlords told Starr News only persons known in their communities would be allowed to visit tenants as well as stay with them.

One of the landlords, Sampson Ahunu, told Starr News “this disease is very dangerous. You wouldn’t know who has or not so prevention is better than cure. We are not going to entertain strangers into our houses. We are going to meet over this decision”.

He explained that “we will allow tenants to welcome only visitors we know and live in our communities. Now we have heard people running away from other places to areas not affected by the curfew of the president”.

Mr.Sampson Ahunu, however, appealed to NGOs to help landlords’ Association with Veronica buckets and sanitizers to distribute among themselves to enhance hygiene to curb the novel Covid-19.

The Landlord and landladies Associations in various communities in the capital are planning to meet on the matter.

Akufo-Addo on Friday night announced partial lockdown of Accra and Kumasi.
