Allies Care Foundation, a charity organization set up by two final year Senior High Students in Obuasi, has presented quantities of protective items to two orphanages in the Obuasi Municipality.

The items, which included; hand sanitizers, Vitamin C supplements and soft drinks, were presented to Patmos Children’s Home at Tewobabi and Adullam Orphanage at Obuasi.

Ms Angela Appiah Eshun, President of the Foundation who made the presentation said it was their support to the inmates of the orphanages to protect themselves against the coronavirus disease.

She said the items which were locally produced would go a long way to assist the inmates to boost their immune system and protect them from catching and spreading the virus in their community.

Madam Akua Mmara, Founder of Patmos Children’s Home, said the outbreak of covid-19, had brought a lot of challenges to the home since they did not have enough space to observe the social distancing and other preventive protocols. She called on the public to assist the orphanage to expand its hostel facilities to reduce overcrowding in the rooms.

Ms Philomina Oppong, a nurse at Adullam Orphanage thanked the students for their timely intervention and asked for God’s blessings and protection for them as they prepared for their final examinations.

She appealed to the district assemblies and government to support private orphanages with protective items to protect inmates from contracting and spreading the virus.
