Coronavirus patients doing well; 8 being managed from home – Akufo-Addo

At least eight out of the 20 active cases of the novel coronavirus in Ghana are currently being managed from home, President Nana Akufo-Addo has disclosed.

Kasapafmonline.com days ago had reported of the development hinting of the seeming recovery of some eight patients.

In a national broadcast last night, President Akufo-Addo re-echoed this saying: “I am reliably informed that all the other eighteen persons are doing well, and are responding to treatment. Indeed, eight of them are being managed from their homes, in isolation.”

Meanwhile, the 61 year old Lebanese who tested positive for covid-19 in Kumasi has passed on Saturday.

Medical officers say he’d underlying health conditions when he died. An autopsy report is being conducted to ascertain the real cause of his death.

Ghana has 20 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus disease as at Saturday, March 21, 2020 with one death.

Eight Ghanaians who contracted the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) are recovering, a highly placed government official has told kasapafmonline.com.

As at Friday, March 20, 2020, Ghana had confirmed and recorded 16 cases of the coronavirus.

Considering the number of recorded cases, it means 50 percent of victims are recovering.

The Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyemang Manu in an interview with Joy News confirmed that some patients are indeed recovering.

“As at yesterday, they were all very stable, some of them I will say are even recovering. There are two of them we are treating at home we don’t see any signs again but we may need to do some tests before we discharge them fully. But so far we don’t have anybody who’s critically ill or severely ill. Illness is mild but you see some of them like they are becoming very normal people.”
