The Eastern Regional Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP, Jeff Konadu, says the recent uproar over corruption cases in government is “well orchestrated and well choreographed ” propaganda by the opposition National Democratic Congress to create equalization of the alarming corrupt practices that marred their government.

Ghana’s President Akufo-Addo has come under torrid criticism in the media by mostly Civil Society organizations and the opposition party for failing to deal with the chain of alleged corruption scandals against his appointees contrary to what he promised.

But Addressing the Bar Conference on September 9,2019, President Akufo-Addo stated that “it cannot be the case that people are condemned on the basis of mere allegations. That is the law of the jungle” adding matter of such nature are therefore reffered to the appropriate institutions to investigate which in most cases have cleared his appointees of any wrong doing.

The Eastern Regional Secretary of the NPP, Jeff Konadu believes the outcry is a storm in a teacup. According to him, it is a deliberate attempt to smear the President.

“Let us try to get somethings right. In the past few weeks we have noticed well orchestrated well choreographed agenda to smear President Akufo-Addo led government with corruption. So whenever they get opportunity they attempt to drag the President into corruption issues. Calling him names-clearing agent and so forth. What I want to tell NDC Communicators who go on radio to make a case out of nothing like Sammy Gyamfi to slow down because that corruption plaster will not wash. It is not going to work,” he said in an interview in Koforidua.
