Corruption, when condoned, scares investors - Apostle

Corruption, when condoned, can result in low productivity, scare investors, and undermine the rule of law and good governance.

Cases of corruption should, therefore, be reported to the law enforcement agencies for appropriate action to be taken.

Apostle-General, Emmanuel Astiko, Leader and General Overseer of Power Mission Church International (PMCI), made the assertion at the close of a five-day Religious Ministers Conference “2014” at Dzodze in the Ketu North District of the Volta Region.

More than 450 spiritual and charismatic church heads and delegates from Ghana, Togo, Benin and Cote D’Ivoire, attended the international conference on the theme: “Knowing and Developing Your Spiritual Identity”.

It was organized by the Headquarters of PMCI and held at the Dzodze – Penyi Senior High School Assembly Hall.

Apostle-General Astiko noted that; “bribery, nepotism, embezzlement and fraud, are dominant in society”.

According to him, every citizen has the right to work, but said the law debars jobs like armed robbery, drug peddling, and kidnapping, among others, and cautioned the citizenry to respect the National Constitution and Flag.

The Apostle-General admonished civil society, religious groups and other benevolent organizations, to exercise their civic responsibilities and help in nation building.

He pointed out that it was a shared responsibility of government and the citizenry to provide shelter, food, education and health.

“Christians should commit themselves to national development without any blemish,”, and should be law-abiding, in order to live in peace and harmony with one another,” he stated.

Apostle-General Astiko asked for God’s guidance for those in authority, to enable them pursue policies that would lead to the growth and development of the country.

He asked the clergy and ministers of state to endeavor to be role models, by leading spiritual and modest lives, as enshrined in the Bible and the Constitution.

The Apostle-General was emphatic that: “It is rewarding to always be in the presence of God, since it is in His presence that one can find direction, and advised Ghanaians to have clean and pure hearts devoid of lies and wicked acrs, in order to be in the presence of God.

The Deputy Bishop, Andrew Kwaku Dirisu of PMCI, advised pastors not only to commit themselves to church activities, but also to national development.
