Security agencies and emergency services in Ghana under the auspices of the Ministry of National Security will conduct a counter-terrorism training exercise code-named ‘Exercise Home Shield’.
The exercise, which is expected to be carried out within the Accra-Tema metropolis, is slated for Friday, 30 November 2018.
A statement signed by COP George Asiamah (rtd), Director/Counter-Terrorism, Ghana Police Service, on Wednesday, 28 November, said:
“The exercise participants include the Ghana Armed Forces, Ghana Police Service. Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana National Fire Service, Bureau of National Investigations and National Security Council Secretariat.”
The others are the National Disaster Management Organisation, Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, Financial and Intelligence Centre, National Ambulance Service and the Ghana Health Service.
The exercise will involve the movement of troops and equipment in some parts of Accra.
