A yet-to-be-identified couple sustained injuries in an accident along the Effia Nkwanta Hospital–Takoradi Road on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

They were traveling in their private Volkswagen Golf, registration number WR-3230-11, heading towards Takoradi when a bullion van collided with the rear of their vehicle, according to a report by 3news.com.

“The impact caused the Golf to skid off the road and somersault. However, this did not cause the driver of the bullion van to stop. It sped off, and a second bullion van, which was right behind, also failed to check on the passengers who had just been hit,” the report said.

Eyewitnesses said the first bullion van was speeding and attempted to overtake from the exit lane when the collision occurred.

According to one eyewitness, “Two bullion vans were speeding on the road. The Golf was maintaining its lane when the first van hit it from behind. The man sustained a deep cut on his forehead and parts of his face, while the woman suffered cuts on her hand and little finger. The driver who caused the accident didn’t stop, and the second van also drove past without offering assistance. We quickly pulled them from the car and rushed them to Effia Nkwanta Hospital.”
