Nsawam (E/R), April 26, GNA - The Nsawam District Magistrate Court on Monday banned a commercial driver, Mr Samuel Kwabena Baah, not to drive for six months for dangerous driving and also fined 100,000 cedis or three months imprisonment if he fails to pay the fine.
Prosecuting, Chief Inspector of Police James Karbo Domah, told the court that Baah was driving at a terrific speed from Suhum to Nsawam and fell into a deep pot-hole, which nearly caused an accident. He said when the passengers protested about his driving, he rather became annoyed and continued with his reckless driving.
Chief Inspector Domah, said a passenger on board, who is also a policewoman arrested him on reaching Nsawam and handed him over to the Police Post on the Densu Bridge and he was charged with the offence. Counsel for him pleaded with the court to deal with him leniently but it was over-ruled and he was sentenced according. His driving license has been kept in the custody of the police.
