Mamponteng (Ash), June 17, GNA- A district court at Mamponteng on Wednesday fined a 56-year-old driver, one million cedis for careless driving and negligently causing harm. Samuel Agyemang-Duah, who pleaded guilty to the charges, will serve a three-month jail sentence in hard labour in default.
Police Inspector Daniel Ashie Nii Kwei told the court presided over by Mr Uuter P. Dery that in January this year, the accused was driving a car from Pankrono towards Asante-Mampong. The Prosecutor said on reaching Ahwiaa, the driver lost control of the car and it veered off its lane and collided with a tro-tro bus, which was coming from the opposite direction.
Insp. Nii Kwei said two passengers on the bus sustained injuries and were rushed to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where they treated and discharged.
