The Nyinahin Magistrate Court presided over by Mr Sam Nibi, has fined two persons GHC600.00 for refusing to participate in communal labour at Akwaboaso in the Atwima-Mponua District.

They are to pay an additional GHC100.00 each for non-payment of a defaulting fee imposed by the community.

Benjamin Atinga, a farmer and Kennedy Agyapong, a chainsaw operator, pleaded guilty to the offence and would spend 30 days in prison if they do not make the money ready.

Mr Robert Forson, the District Assembly’s Prosecutor told the court presided over by Mr Sam Nibi that accused persons reside at Akwaboaso.

On 21st January this year they refused to respond to the announcement made by the Chief and the unit committee summoning the community to work on the school block project in that village.
