Accra, July 6, GNA - The driver of the Toyota Corona Saloon car, which was involved in an accident on October 5, 2005 resulting in the death of Patience Adow, Former Eastern Region Minister, was on Thursday put before an Accra Circuit Court on charges of careless and inconsiderate driving and negligently causing harm.
Bismark Ayiribi pleaded not guilty to both counts and the presiding judge, Mr Justice Frank Manu, a High Court with additional responsibility on the case as a Circuit Court Judge, granted him bail in the sum of 300 million cedis to reappear on Tuesday, July 18. According to the Prosecution, Ayiribi was driving on the Lagos Avenue at Bawaleshie Town towards the Tetteh Quarshie Interchange on that day with Ms Adow on board when he lost control of the vehicle near Tanbu Junction.
The vehicle veered into the opposite lane and collided with a water tanker that was coming from the Tetteh Quarshie Interchange.
According to the Prosecution, Ayiribi and Ms Adow sustained injuries but Ms Addow was pronounced dead on arrival at the 37th Military Hospital.
