Court hears case against "Jesus One Touch" in camera

Accra, March 29, GNA - An Accra Circuit Court on Monday heard the ca= se of incest against Nana Kofi Yirenkyi, also known as "Jesus One Touch", Founder and General Overseer of Jesus Blood Ministry, at Oblogo Mancheste= r in camera.

"Jesus One Touch" is being accused of allegedly defiling his 10-year-old=

daughter. He has pleaded not guilty and is in the custody of the Police. At 1015 hours, when the case was called, the defence team, prosecution, a relation of the accused and a student journalist were escorted into the judge's chamber.

The victim and her mum were the next to be whisked into the chamber=

amidst tight security. Sources close to the court said, evidence of the victim was taken and th= e matter adjourned to Wednesday, April 7.

The congregation, who thronged the court, sat in the courtroom until 133= 0 hours when the trial was over.

When the accused was brought out of the chamber after the hearing; he requested the Police to escort him to the urinal. When he got there, he accused posed and asked the cameramen to take thei= r shots. The prosecution's case was that the victim, was born out of wedlock, and=

lived with the complainant; Madam Bernice Owiredua Asamaa, until 2005 whe= n she left to live with the accused at McCarthy Hills in Accra to attend school. Prosecution said between 2008-2009; accused started defiling the victim before every church service.

In November 2009, the accused granted an opportunity to the victim's mot= her to talk to her because she was putting up a bad behaviour. It was during the interaction that the victim revealed her ordeal to the=

complainant. The victim was initially examined by a medical practitioner and later transferred to the Police Hospital for further treatment 29 March 10
