Elmina, June 17, GNA- A 21-year old man who escaped from prison and posed as a public officer, on Friday had six more months added to his sentence, for escaping from lawful custody, by a magistrate's court at Elmina. Kweku Atta Bessah, who pleaded guilty with explanation and attributed his behaviour to the devil, had been serving a 12-month jail term at the Ankaful prisons for a similar offence. The prosecution had earlier told the court that on May 9 this year, Bessah and three other inmates at the Ankaful prisons were sent out to clear the weeds around the prison's barracks at Ntranoa, near Ankaful. It said whilst there, Bessah reported that he was ill and was given first aid by the officer accompanying them. He later asked permission to attend nature's call, but escaped and went to Sanka near Elmina where he posed as an official of the Electricity Company of Ghana, but was again found out and arrested.
