An Accra Circuit Court on Monday sentenced Benjamin Asamoah, a Computer Technician, to three Months imprisonment in hard labour and a fine of GHc1,200 for using narcotic drugs.

The convict, who pleaded not guilty to the charges, later changed his plea to guilty.

Chief Inspector K. Adu told the court presided over by Mr. Francis Obiri that, the Odorkor Police Command received information about some people dealing in narcotic drugs, stolen items and engaging in other social vices at the Odorkor Post Office area.

He said on March 30, at about 0200 hours, the Police proceeded to the Odorkor Post Office area and found the convict at a drinking spot smoking dried leaves suspected to be indian hemp.

The prosecution said the convict was, therefore, arrested and arranged before court.
