Asamankese, Dec. 17, GNA - Kwame Tamakloe, a 29-year-old farmer, was on Thursday prisonment in hard labour, by the Asamankese Circuit Court, for defiling a 10-year-old class two pupil. He pleaded guilty.

Police Detective Inspector R. K. Yeboah, prosecuting, told the court presided over by Mr Emmanuel Siame that on December 6, Tamakloe was engaged by the victim's father to assist him on his cocoa farm.

After the close of work, the girl and her siblings were asked by their mother to fetch water from a nearby stream. The prosecutor said Tamakloe rushed to the stream ahead of the children and crossed over, where he invited the girl to come around.

When the girl joined him, he undressed her and forcibly had sexual intercourse with her. Tamakloe asked the screaming girl to shut up and after the act he ran away.

One of the victim's siblings informed their mother about the request of Tamakloe for the girl to come over to him. The suspicious mother therefore questioned the girl who revealed her ordeal.

The case was reported to the police, which led to the arrest of Tamakloe, who admitted defiling the girl in his caution statement. A medical form was issued to the girl's father to send her to hospital for medical treatment.
