Court jails farmer 48 months for stealing

Akim Oda (E/R) Aug. 11, GNA - The Akim Oda Magistrate's Court has sentenced Kofi Okyere, a farmer to 12 months imprisonment in hard labour o= n each of the four counts of unlawful entry, causing damage, unlawful entry and stealing. Okyere, pleaded guilty.

Akim Oda (E/R) Aug. 11, GNA - The Akim Oda Magistrate's Court has sentenced Kofi Okyere, a farmer to 12 months imprisonment in hard labour o= n each of the four counts of unlawful entry, causing damage, unlawful entry and stealing. Okyere, pleaded guilty. Briefing the court presided over Mr Albert Owusu Annor, Police Inspector Kwaku Appiah, said Okyere lives at Akim Anyinase in the Akyemansa district with Madam Linda Boakye, a store keeper and the complainant in the case. At about 2300 hours on July 18, Madam Boakye locked her kiosk and went home and at about 0030 hours the following day the convict was seen coming out of the kiosk with a polythene bag. Inspector Appiah said a witness in the case spotted the convict who dropped the polythene bag which contained provisions and bolted away, but was arrested when the alarm was raised.
