Court jails private security man two years for stealing

Sekondi Jan. 20, GNA - A Sekondi District Magistrate's Court on Monday sentenced Kwabena Ackon, unemployed, to two years imprisonment in hard labour for causing unlawful damage, unlawful entry and stealing. He pleaded guilty.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Richard Boatey, said on December 28 last year, thieves invaded the campus of Peter Pipers International School at Anaji and made away with a number of items belonging to Mr Justice Acquah. He said the stolen items included 11 video compact discs, one fan, one telephone handset, one microphone receiver, two microphones, a 28-inch television set, a 14-inch television set, one DVD deck and three bags.

Mr Kwabena Ackon, the administrator of the school, reported the theft to the police and the convict, who used to work with Red Life Security Company based at Pipe Ano near Takoradi, was arrested. A search in his room revealed some of the stolen items including DVD deck, a fan, a 14-inch colour television set and a tape recorder.
