Accra, June 3, GNA - An Accra Fast Track High Court has ordered the official of Ghana Standards Board (GSB) who conducted analytical examinat ion into alleged substances found on Ibrahim Sima, Chief Executive Officer of
Exopa Modeling Agency, to appear before it. The official is to answer technical questions pertaining to the examination conducted on the substances. The report from GSB had been tendered in evidence and Police Chief Inspector Samuel Anabah, being cross-examined was unable to answer questi ons concerning the report. As a result of that, Mr James Agalga, defence counsel raised objecti ons over the author of the report. He said the author of the report should appear before the court to answer questions on it and not the witness. The court upheld defence counsel's submission and adjourned the matter t o June 17. Earlier, answering questions under cross-examination, Chief Inspector Anabah said he also interrogated Sima after his arrest. According to him, what Sima wrote was not what he said during the interrogation. Chief Inspector Anabah tendered four wrappers of the substances forwarde d to GSB for analytical examination. He admitted that Sima opened his own bag after his arrest adding the bag
had been locked with numbers and it was only he (Sima) who could open it. Prosecution's case is that the accused allegedly concealed five kilogrammes of drugs suspected to be cocaine in some tubers of yam while travelling to Frankfurt, Germany, on September 7, last year. While going through departure formalities, officials of the Narcotic
Control Board opened his luggage and found the tubers of yam sliced and joined. When the yams were sliced, the drugs were found concealed in them. The prosecution said Sima claimed ownership of the drug claiming he was asked to give it to someone in Germany for a fee of 3,200 dollars.
