Cape Coast, April 7, GNA - A 33-year old tailor, who allegedly threatened to beat an 11-year-old girl to death, if she did not allow him to have sex with her, was on Thursday remanded into custody by a circuit court at Cape Coast.

Kojo Ebiasah, who hails from Enyan-Abaasa, pleaded not guilty and will reappear on Wednesday, May 4.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Augustine Amonoo told the court, presided over by Mr. Beresford Acquah, that on November 18, last year at about 2000 hours, the victim, who is a pupil of the local Methodist primary school, was sent by her elder sister to buy porridge. C/Ins. Amonoo alleged that the accused, who was then standing by house, called the victim and told her that he wanted her to buy some of the porridge for him, and sent her into his room to fetch him his trousers to enable him give her some money.

Chief Inspector Amonoo said the girl obliged but came back to tell him that she could not find the trousers but the accused sent her back to the room to bring a pair shorts, which he said, was hanging behind his door.

The court heard that as soon as the girl entered the room, Ebiasah followed up, locked the door and threatened beat her to death if she did not allow him to have sex with her.

Chief inspector Amonoo said the accused forced down the panties of the girl and had sex with her.

After the act, he warned the girl not to inform her mother but the girl's mother detected a change in her walking the next day and questioned her, leading to the arrest of Ebiasah.
