Ejisu (Ash), Aug. 19, GNA - A 30-year-old mason from Kwamo near Ejisu was on Monday sentenced to 18 months imprisonment in hard labour by the Ejisu magistrate court for stealing.

Francis Manu, who pleaded guilty to the charge, however, pleaded with the court to deal leniently with him.

Police Inspector Nkansa Twumasi-Ankrah told the court, presided over by Mr Adutwum Mmorosa that Regina Afriyie, the complainant, hired Manu to dig a manhole at the site where she was putting up her house at Kwamo New Site.

He said on July 20, this year, the complainant detected that three boxes of louvers blades had been stolen from the room where they were kept.

The prosecution said when the complainant asked the accused whether he was the one who stole the louver blades, he denied and so she reported the case to the police.

Inspector Twumasi-Ankrah said the police therefore arrested him and during interrogation, he admitted stealing the louver blades.
