Cowbell ‘rescues’ residents of Domeabra, provides them with potable water

After several years of drinking from a river that looks milky brown, Promasidor Ghana Limited has come to the rescue of the people of Domeabra by providing them with potable water.

On Tuesday, June 2, 2020, Cowbell commissioned a borehole facility for these residents and neighbouring communities in the Eastern region.

This potable drinking water available to the community will serve about 5 other communities.

During the commissioning of the borehole, Public Relations Officer (P.R.O) of Promasidor Ghana Limited, Gideon Kodo explained that the project aims at making clean water accessible to communities that make use of polluted water bodies.

He noted that this project is aimed at solving the “difficulties in getting good drinking water..."It is also to make sure water is accessible to these communities. “We are also trying to reduce the issue of waterborne disease which is mainly one of the problems this community and the others go through a lot, He added”.

Also, the community, especially children and mothers will heave a sigh of relief as they wouldn’t walk long distance to fetch water from the polluted water for daily activities.

“This is a borehole project that forms part of our community support initiative activities. The main plan is to construct 20 boreholes which forms activities that are marking the 20th anniversary celebration of the Cowbell brand and we have this dotted around several communities that are struggling to have access to potable water,” he stated.

Meanwhile, 8 boreholes would be constructed this month in 3 regions; Ashanti, Upper East, Upper West regions as part of the 20th anniversary celebrations, themed around, “water is life.”



Cowbell has saved our lives

Chief of Nyafomang, Nana Anoa Sasraku Nipa IV said the initiative carried out by Cowbell, is a lifesaving one.

He also reiterated that the availability of water in the community will save women and children the stress of walking long kilometers to go and fetch water for their use before heading to work and school respectively.

Nana Anoa Sasraku Nipa IV said “We thank God and Cowbell for this project because our worry has been the availability of potable water in the community.

"About 5 communities were without water. School children are mostly late for school because they walk a long distance to go and fetch water to bath and get ready for school…We are happy with this project because water, they say is life so cowbell has saved our lives,” he stated.

He however called on both Promasidor Ghana Limited and government to build a clinic for the community as well.
