Former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo
The Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah has stated that the effort to bring former MASLOC CEO Sedina Tamakloe back to Ghana did not begin under the current administration.
According to him, extradition steps were initiated shortly after her conviction during the Akufo-Addo administration.
“By July 2024, processes had already been initiated to ensure her return to Ghana,” he said.
Awuah stated that legal proceedings continued for months while Sedina challenged the process abroad.
“Proceedings were ongoing, but she was fighting them. Eventually, she decided to surrender and return home,” he explained.
He argued that the public record should reflect the timeline accurately.
“It is important to put these facts on record because many people are discussing the matter without acknowledging how long the process has been underway,” he said.
Sedina arrived in Ghana this week and is expected to begin serving a 10-year sentence imposed by the Accra High Court.
