Central regional Minister, Kwamena Duncan has urged Ghanaians to be patient with the New Patriotic Party led administration as President Akufo-Addo is committed to fulfilling all his electoral promises to Ghanaians.

Government, he says inherited a lame economy which needs to be fixed first before moving on to deliver other promises to the benefit of all Ghanaians.

Speaking to Starr News, Mr. Kwamena Duncan described as unfair the continuous criticism of the government especially in completing projects initiated by the NDC administration.

According to the minister, the previous government must rather be blamed for poorly implementing such projects as a lot of them require total retooling before it can be made viable.

One of such programmes, he said is the Komenda Sugar factory which according to him, was poorly executed with a lot of tax payers’ money going down the drain. His comments come on the back of claims by the paramount chief of Komenda, Nana Kojo Kru II that government is dragging its feet in making the project operational despite meeting all requirements.

Nana Kojo Kru II last week described the endless neglect of the Komenda Sugar factory as distasteful and an affront to the development of the country.

“We have written petitions and have even gone to the presidency and ministry of trade to meet all concerned and still nothing is happening. We are very disappointed as to what is happening,” Nana Kojo Kru II told Starr News.

“If the new government thinks certain things went wrong in the construction process, then they should engage the previous administration on it and let the factory work so that the country can get the benefits that would come with the factory as the factory is gradually rotting away. That is sad and unhealthy for Ghana,” he added.
