DACF Administrator backs Korle Bu’s ‘100x100’ project with infrastructure support

Administrator of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), Michael Harry Yamson, has pledged support for the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital's Child Health Department as it launches its 100x100 Project to raise funds for critical medical equipment and infrastructure.

Speaking to the media on the sidelines at the launch of the initiative on July 30, 2026, Yamson described the campaign as a collective effort to improve child healthcare by encouraging 100,000 Ghanaians to donate at least GH¢100 each.

"The idea is very simple, which is 100,000 Ghanaians giving at least GH¢100. As I pledged, the Common Fund will support the project's infrastructure component. We will list it on our community partners platform and raise as much as we can in addition to the pledge that has been given individually today," he said.

He stressed the importance of investing in children's health, noting that every child deserves a strong start in life regardless of the circumstances of their birth.

"The children are our precious asset. They are our future. They don't choose the circumstances or the conditions they have at the time they are born.

"It is for us who have the means and mandate to make sure that we support them through the Child Health Department to ensure that they start as strong as they can be to contribute to the country," he added.
