The Graphic says a member of the Brong Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs, Krotwiamansa Adjei Amopofo, has expressed grave concern about the persistent attempts by litigants appearing before the judicial tribunals of the House to bribe panelists in order to influence their decisions. In a banner front page story headlined "Tribunals to expose bribe givers", the Graphic says Nana Ampofo, who is also the Omanhene of Goaso, has therefore pleaded with lawyers to advise their clients against such conducts because if the trend continues, the tribunals willbe compelled to publicly expose those involved. According to the Graphic, Nana Ampofo expressed the concern in an open court on Tuesday when a judicial tribunal of the House which he chaired, was hearing cases at Sunyani GRI

"Runaway policeman re-arrested", is the headline of another Graphic front page story which says the Akosombo Police have re-arrested Constable Samuel Kwasi Kpabitey who escaped from custody while on trial for allegedly stealing two vehicles. The Graphic says Kpabitey was apprehended last Saturday at Kpong, following a man-hunt mounted by a combined team of policemen from the Greater Accra and the regions since his disappearance on July 30, this year. The Graphic reports an unspecified number of illegal miners who were prospecting for gold in a deep pit at Amantin, a farming community along the Takoradi-Tarkwa rail line, died when the pit caved in. The Graphic says the mishap occurred last August 26 and has thrown the town, which is accessible only by train, into a state of mourning. According to the paper, 12 bodies have so far been retrieved out of which nine have been identified. Rescuers are still searching for more bodies. GRI
