Mankranso-Ashanti, Oct. 10, GNA - The Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) has organised a two-day training workshop for Board of Directors and Management Staff of Ahafo-Ano South and North Districts Mutual Health Insurance Schemes at Mankranso in the Ahafo-Ano South District.

It was to expose the participants to challenges in the organisation of the scheme and to ensure its efficient management. Mr Ronald Adom Oppong, Coordinator of DANIDA Health Training Programmes, said MHIS could only sustained and made beneficial to stakeholders when Board members, Management staff and service providers work together as a team.

He noted that there was no perfection in the world and the MHIS was bound to have some teething problems in the beginning. Mr Oppong said there was a solution to every problem and appealed to those responsible in managing the scheme to approach every problem with the view to solving it but not to magnify it.

Mr Kwaku Boateng, Ahafo-Ano South District Chief Executive expressed satisfaction with the manner the scheme was being managed in the district and appealed to the management and staff to open their doors to other schemes in Ashanti Region that might need their assistance.

Dr Joe Bonney, Ashanti Regional Coordinator of MHIS appealed to the participants to use the skills acquired from the training workshop to improve on the day to day administration of the scheme to attract more clients.
