Asamankese (E/R), March 19, GNA - Mr Kwaku Asante, District Chief Executive (DCE) for West Akim, has commended Mr. Sallas Mensah, MP for Upper West Akim, for collaborating with the District Assembly for the development of the district.
He was speaking when he commissioned 16-seater sceptic tank toilets at Asuotwene, Kwasi-Nyarko and Danso costing 103 million cedis. The project was funded from the assembly's common fund while the communities offered communal labour.
Mr. Sallas Mensah assured the people of more development and asked them to rekindle their communal spirit. He said the government is committed to improving the living standards of the people especially those in rural areas asked them to establish agro-based industries to create employment to check the rural-urban migration.
Mr. William Agbavitor, a business executive and a citizen of Asuotwene, in appreciation of the people's communal spirit presented four wheel barrows, two shovels and six pick axes costing 500,000 cedis to support their efforts.
