Nkoranza (B/A) Jan. 22, GNA - Mr. Kwame Ampofo-Twumasi, Nkoranza District Chief Executive, has commended the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of the Nkoranza Local "A" JSS for raising funds to renovate the school's three classroom block and an office.
He called on other PTAs to emulate the association since the government could not shoulder the responsibility for education in the country alone.
The DCE called for collaborative efforts of parents and teachers to ensure discipline among students of the School for an improvement in the standard of education.
The Chief Executive advised students in the district to be law abiding and to respect teachers to enable them to impart their rich knowledge to them.
Mr. Ampofo-Twumasi urged the students to take good care of all school facilities by handling them properly for their longer life span.
Mr. Jarvis R. Agyeman-Badu, District Director of Education, commended the P.T.A. for using their dues judiciously, saying such attitude confirmed their commitment to and concern for education.
He reminded the teachers of the common mock examination being arranged for JSS finalists in the district and urged them to prepare their students well for the exercise.
The District Director expressed appreciation to Nkoranza District Assembly for financing education programmes, saying special awards would be given to deserving teachers and students to boost their morale.
Mr. Abdul Razak, PTA Chairman and Vice Chairman Pastor Hanson Tachie of the Nkoranza Christ Apostolic Church International, pledged that the association's gesture was not a flash in the pan and would continue to offer assistance for the development of the school. About two million cedis was spent on the renovation work, Mr Razak said and advised the students to be disciplined and to take their education seriously.
Mr. Raymond Akelsiyinne, headmaster, thanked the staff for their unity, cooperation and hard work towards the development of the school. He asked them to continue to work hard and appealed to the students to support the school authorities to achieve a very good record for the school with regard to discipline and academic work.
