DCE expresses gratitude to president

Wenchi (B/A), March. 28, GNA- Madam Ibrahim Bintu Farizana, outgoing Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), for Wenchi in the Brong-Ahafo Region, on Friday expressed her gratitude to the president ,His Excellency John Agyekum Kufour for approving and re-assigning her as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Tain District. "I am proud that the president has seen some good things in me and encouraging me to continue serving the state," the DCE said. Madam Farizana was speaking at a press conference to express her appreciation to the president for the honour he had bestowed on her. She assured to perform her duties as expected and would continue serving the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, to help achieve success for the nation.

The DCE praised the assembly members, who offered her the necessary support during her term at the Wenchi Municipal Assembly and stressed that they should extend the same spirit and work hard in harmony to the incoming Chief Executive, Nana Attah Afena, to enable him to serve the District well. Madam Farizana called on the people and the supporters of (NPP) at Wenchi to forge ahead in unity and work hard to enable the party to maintain power in the December Elections. She commended the assembly members for electing Nana Attah Afena as the MCE for Wenchi, while urging them to maintain the spirit of cooperation and work assiduously towards the development of the municipality.

She stressed the need for traditional rulers of Wenchi to bury their differences and join hand as the custodians of the area, in order to bring the people together and move the communities forward. She further urged the youth in the various political parties in the area to avoid the use of provocative statements and insults on their opponents but rather be decent in all their activities to avoid violence in the communities. Madam Farizana told the party leaders of the Wenchi Constituency to intensify their efforts and to maintain the parliamentary seats of the party in the region in this year's election.
