DRIP: Ashanti Region receives 435 heavy-duty equipment for road development

The Ashanti Region has taken delivery of 435 heavy-duty equipment under the government's District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) to boost road development.

The DRIP is a flagship program of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) aimed at fixing deplorable road networks, especially in rural areas.

This equipment is expected to significantly enhance road development in the Ashanti Region.

The equipment, inaugurated by Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah, on Friday, August 23, 2024, includes 94 tipper trucks, 47 backhoes, Water tankers, Rollers, and Motor graders, respectively.

He revealed that the region also received 141 concrete mixers, six wheel loaders, Three bulldozers and Three lowbeds.

Osei Mensah praised the government for its support and assured that the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) will monitor the equipment regularly to ensure they are used for the intended purpose.
