Pressure group, Dynamic Youth Movement of Ghana (DYMOG) has partnered Forum for Accountability to create awareness on youth unemployment in the country.

According to the group, the growing number of unemployed youth in the country poses a threat to the country's development hence the need for the partnership.

In a short dialogue between leaders of the two groups, the President of Forum for Accountability and a seasoned journalist, Mr. Kwame Owusu Danso, revealed that the purpose of the alliance is to proffer pragmatic and sustainable solutions different from the mundane talks and fruitless demonstrations, in order to curtail the peril of unemployment.

He opined that deficiency in youth development stems from lack of youth policies and government’s lack of interest in empowering the youth to engage in daunting activities.

To this end, the group through its partnership will come up with policies to better engage the youth and to ‘put the feet of government to the fire of responsibilities’ so as to curtail the scourge of unemployment.

On the other hand, the Founder of DYMOG, Edward Tuttor, indicated that even though the nation is blessed with so many young people with sharp brains and ideas, the Ghanaian environment does not foster support for their development.

He said the youth do not get the necessary attention from the government in matters of empowerment, opportunity creation and capacity building. Mr. Tuttor stressed the need for the youth to be prepared to embrace a bright future.

The two groups resolved their commitment to carry out strategic humanitarian projects to address the menace.

The President of Forum for Accountability, Mr. Kwame Owusu Danso used the occasion to call on other youth groups to partner DYMOG and FFA in the fight against youth unemployment in Ghana.

Forum for Accountability is a civil society group which seeks to ensure empowerment of the youths in the areas of business, education, gender matters, among others. It also looks out for youths who are interested in the development of this country.
