DAGBONG YOUTH FOR DEVELOPMENT (‘DYD”) APPLAUDS THE PRESIDENT FOR LISTENING TO THE CRY OF DAGBONG.

The leadership of Dagbong Youth for Development (“DYD”), on behalf of all Dagbong youth say thank you to the president of the republic of Ghana – His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, members of the ruling party and all Ghanaians for heeding to the demands of all Northerners in general, and the Dagbong Kingdom specifically.

We express no joy that the deputy minister “resigned”, but because the president agreed with us that the North and Dagbong deserves better and must be given nothing less. With the “resignation” of the deputy minister, we are optimistic that the president will choose someone who will understand that he or she is to represent, understand and serve every Ghanaian devoid of religious, tribal and or ethnic categorization.

Dagbong youth wants to take this opportunity to send a word of caution to all government appointees, now and in the future, to be mindful of their language when addressing issues that bother Ghanaians. Public leaders are selected to be available for all – as such, making pronouncement that make certain groups of people to question one’s objectivity and ability to lead with a fair hand shall not be part of the traits of a public leader.

We also want to add that the time when the North served as dump for all insults and name calling is over – we shall not sit unconcerned for any individual or group of individuals to drag the name of the north, and all its tribes on the mud. We are saying enough is enough!

DYD is a non-aligned and non-political group that is working for the unity and development of Dagbong which is intertwined and cannot be separated from the development of Ghana. As such, we are ever ready, willing and available to work with government and all its agencies to see to the development of the Dagbong, North, and Ghana at large.

We want to thank all Dagbong youth, the media and all Ghanaians for their support in making sure our voices are head beyond the borders of Ghana. The message of the North and Dagbong people would not have gone anywhere without the volume it received from all – may God keep us united for development.

Finally, we want to challenge the youth of Dagbong to rise up and embrace unity, so together we can do something better for the kingdom. With a unified voice, peace and love for one another, we are optimistic that Dagbong will rise beyond levels that we can imagine. Ours is a group opened to all; Abudus, Andanis, NPP, NDC, CPP and all the other categories that divide us. We believe in the power of diversity and are convinced that with everybody on board, we shall achieve our goals.

God bless our homeland Ghana, God bless Northern Ghana, and God bless Dagbong.

Dagbong Youth – Nangban Yini, Tab Yurlim ni Lebigimsim.
