It was to assess the appeal of potential presidential candidates, to provide inputs for strategies to minimise the fall out of the competing interests to party cohesion for the 2008 elections and to assess the performance/rating of institutions of state and events.
The 2,021 polled, including 1086 voters and 935 regional and constituency executives of the NPP, rated the Ministry of Defence, under Kwame Addo-Kufuor as having the best performance.
Again, both voters and party executives said the Foreign Affairs Ministry, with Nana Akufo-Addo as the Minister, was the next best-performing Ministry. Rated third was Paapa Owusu-Ankomah's Ministry of Education. Mike Oquaye's Communications Ministry came fourth, followed by the Ministry of Water Resources, Works & Housing, under Hackman Owusu-Agyemang.
In sixth place was the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, followed respectively by the Ministries of Tourism, and Trade & Industry.
