Danger looms as children use broken branch as swing at 37

‘Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; the rod of correction will drive it far from him,’ those are the words of the Bible quoted from Proverbs 22 verses 15.

This was, however, not the case as some children explored their fantasies, damning the consequences and by extension danger, their actions would cause them.

The children, four in number consisting of three girls and a boy were seen joyfully playing with a branch hanging loose on a large neem tree around the 37 Military Hospital area on a hot Friday afternoon.

The oldest of the four who appeared to be not more than 13-years-old was leading the activity by pushing the boy who was balancing himself on the branch to allow the pendulum movement of their ‘swing.’

What was even more worrying was the fact that there were two adults present but did not seem interested in what was happening right under their noses.

From the look of things, it’s either the sight is not strange to them, or they were just too absorbed in their own world as the children toyed with their lives.

As things stand now, it is just a matter of time before a mishap occurs. Unless the totally cut off from the tree or the children are prevented from furthering in their folly.
