Hassan Ayariga, Founder of the All People’s Congress (APC), has called for a debate with former President John Dramani Mahama, and the New Patriotic Party's flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
In a yet-to-be-aired interview with GhanaWeb’s Etsey Atisu on Election Desk next Tuesday, August 27, 2024, Ayariga expressed his readiness to debate the mentioned individuals, as he prepares to contest them in the December polls
He said that both the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress are reluctant to engage in a debate because they cannot present the truth to Ghanaians.
Ayariga has also challenged them to participate without any external aids, asserting that he is prepared to present his policies to the Ghanaian public during the debate.
“Today the NPP and the NDC are running away from their own debate. It’s not because they are running from their own debate; it’s because they can’t sit and let Ghanaians hear the truth of the matter and understand the dynamics.
“I have even asked for the two of them to sit before me and when they do, I am calling for a debate from John Mahama and the NPP. But in this case, I don’t want a debate where we all go in with foreign materials. I want a debate like I am sitting here with you. I am not holding any document and I am going to tell you policies upon policies,” he added.
