As the African continent continues to experience rapid digital transformation driven by emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, and big data analytics, the protection of personal information has become both a pressing challenge and a critical opportunity.
The Africa Digital Rights Hub (ADRH) LBG seeks to bring together key stakeholders, regulators, policymakers, industry leaders, and civil society to discuss the evolving data protection landscape in Africa, explore how innovation can coexist with privacy and data protection, and chart a collective path toward responsible, secure, and inclusive digital development for all Africans.
This year’s Data Protection Africa Summit, scheduled to be held at the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra from 1st to 4th December 2025, offers participants from Ghana and other parts of Africa a valuable opportunity to benefit from masterclasses, network with peers, exchange knowledge, and gain fresh insights to enhance their professional growth.
The four-day summit, organized by ADRH in partnership with the Data Protection Commission of Ghana under the theme “Defining Africa’s Digital Future: From Consumerism to Partnership”, is expected to bring together cybersecurity experts, researchers, policymakers, regulators, data controllers and processors, innovators, tech companies, the business community, and other relevant experts globally.
The highlight and climax of the 2025 Summit is the PICCASO Awards Africa, an award ceremony that will recognize and celebrate African excellence and innovation in data privacy, cybersecurity, compliance, and data ethics.
The Summit will reinforce the urgent need to protect and safeguard personal data in this era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, while fostering an enabling environment for the responsible collection and use of personal data as a strategic resource for socio-economic development.
In doing so, the event will also provide participants with valuable opportunities to network, share knowledge, celebrate excellence, and gain insights that strengthen collaboration and advance data protection across Africa.
