Prof. Edmund Delle, National Chairman of the Convention People's Party
The Chiir Der Royal Family of Nandom has refuted media reports that the kingmakers have enskinned the Chairman of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Professor Edmund Nminyem Delle as the new Nandom Na.
“We wish to state unequivocally that no chief has been enskinned,” a statement issued on Friday, 12 April 2019 by the Regent and Head of the Chiir Royal Family, Deri Ziem Chemogoh, said.
The release explained that the final funeral rites of the late Na Dr Charles Puoure Puobe Imoru Chiir VII is ongoing and would continue for the next 40 days and would be “unimaginable” that members of the family will be thinking of a new chief before the funeral rites are over.
In that regard, the family said the “purported enskinment of Adjunct Prof. Edmund N. Delle as Nandom Na should be disregarded”, as “it is simply an attempt to cause mayhem and disunite the Royal Family and the good people of Nandom”.
The family further cautioned Professor “Edmund N. Delle and his surrogates to respect the chiefs and good people of Nandom and allow peace to prevail”.
