Delta Air Lines Revises Schedule for Accra-to-New York

ACCRA, March 3, 2011 – Delta Air Lines has revised the schedules for its flights between Accra's Kotoka International Airport and New York's John F. Kennedy Airport to offer customers improved flight connections to destinations across the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean. The revised schedule, which is effective from 1 June, will enhance same-day onward connections to key destinations for Ghanaian passengers such as Washington, Atlanta, Boston, California and Florida**.

“As the leading U.S. airline to Ghana, we have listened to our customers and will introduce the new schedule to New York in June, complementing our existing overnight service to Atlanta,” said Bobby Bryan, Delta's commercial manager for West and East Africa. “The revised schedule means that Delta will offer a daily night flight between Ghana and the United States providing significant time savings as well as an increase in the number of convenient onward connections to the United States and beyond.”

Delta's nonstop flight between Accra and New York-JFK will operate as follows:

The flight to New York-JFK operates four times weekly using a 216 seat Boeing 767-300ER aircraft. In addition, Delta also offers three times weekly service between Accra and Atlanta.

Delta recently announced the introduction of a premium economy product “Economy Comfort” in summer 2011, as well as the roll-out of full flat-bed seats on the international wide-body fleet over the coming months. This forms part of a $2 billion investment in enhanced airport facilities and global products and services, including new international terminals at New York-JFK and Atlanta airports.
